Old Emails

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

For all these years that I’ve had a free Yahoo email account, it has been a good experience. There have been improvements along the way. Mostly with the amount of memeory that you can have. I have almost 2,000 old emails in my account. So I guess I need to go back through all those really old ones and start cleaning up the old inbox. I have a hard time deleting emails but it’s just another chore to take care of and it doesn’t do it by itself.

Reaching Out to the Social Media

Friday, June 12th, 2009

Social media is such a strange phrase and I’m having a hard time embracing that concept. My boss wants to learn more about it and possibly incorporate some of the more effective strategies into our marketing efforts. So I’ll be surfing the internet looking for editorials and opinions to get a quick read on it, then meet with my boss to go over what we’ve learned and make a plan for what we need to do.

I did find a very cool download from a tech blog called, “blah blah! technology” that seems to be very involved with social media. The download is titled, “The Beginner’s Guide to Social Media.” and they might as well have put “for Joann” on the cover!

Uncle Jay

Monday, June 8th, 2009

If you don’t have your own Uncle Jay, you can borrow the Uncle Jay from the Chicago Tribune. He’s a great guy! He takes all the news and breaks it down to a very basic level and makes it entertaining, too. If you don’t understand today’s news, let Uncle Jay explain it to you. Every Monday there is a 3 minute video published, ‘”Helping Small Minds Understand Big News!”

Dentists

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

I’m not a fan of Dentistry and it really sucks because I know that I have a cavity, but I begin to get so uptight when ever I have a scheduled appointment with my dentist. He is a great guy, been going to him forever and a day, his prices are as reasonable as the next guy, and is easy on the eyes, but . . .

I have dental insurance so the cost isn’t a major issue, although co-pays can add up by the end of the year for all the medical issues that I have been facing lately. But I just don’t like someone in my mouth and even thinking about needles and drills going on just creeps me out so very badly.

I know I need to call, the holidays are now upon us and a lot of people are going out of town, it would really suck to start having a toothache during all of the festivities that are in the makings for this years celebration on the anniversary of the birth date of our Lord Jesus.

Maybe I need to tell me Mother about the issue, I know that she will nag me until I get off of it and call and the darn thing taken care of and done with it all. She is good at such things, gotta love her.

Christmas Presents are Fun to Wrap!

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Every year the products that come out to make the task of wrapping holiday gifts so much easier. It always amazes me with what they come up with each and every year. I love having lines all ready drawn on the back of most modern time wrapping paper and these hand held paper cutters that are all the rage are totally awesome, glad that I bought one at the Dollar Tree a couple months ago.

I enjoy the whole process of wrapping presents, I’m not all that great at it, but i usually put on Christmas music, light candles, sip on hot chocolate and really try to get into the mood when the time comes to start all the wrapping that needs to be done. I do so love the Christmas Holiday Season!
