Staffing Cuts

Friday, March 6th, 2009

All of the convenience stores in the area have had to cut the hours of employees and are down to just one or 2 clerks on duty instead of the usual 3 or 4 at the busy stores. That is a hard job and I’m amazed that the chain owners really expect just 1 or 2 people to do a good job not only running the cash register but keeping the store and restrooms clean, stocking the inventory, making fresh coffee every 20 minutes, and all the other things they have to do.

It’s not fair to the customers, either. We now have long lines to wait at the cash register and lots of times now I see the crowd in the store and just decide to not go buy anything. They are losing business by being cheap and I don’t think anyone is smart enough to see that. they make their profit on sales from inside the store but they have made going inside the store undesirable. Dummies!

I am sure it is men making these types of decisions. They are so stupid about things like customer service and taking care of the people who spend their money in the stores.

I Run to the Border on Occasion

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

The town that I live in now has just about every fast food restaurant that you could think of and new family restaurants are popping up left and right, no wonder we are turning into such an obese society with food at each and every street corner and leading you to their temptations that are advertised so delightfully and appetizing.

One of my favorite fast food place in town is Taco Bell, the food is fast and cheap and they have a drive in window with a decent speaker system that allows you to actually hear and understand what the clerk is saying to you. That is a rarity these days.

I can’t tell a joke to save my soul

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

I have a good friend that I work with that just has the best sense of humor, she keeps us on our toes at work most of the time and is all and all a very good hearted woman. She loves telling jokes and is always looking for more material and I always try to remember the good jokes that I hear outside of work in order to tell her on the next scheduled work day. It really sucksĀ but I can’t remember a joke, no matter what, I probably have less than 5 jokes that are stored in my brain, and there is no more room in there what so ever.

If I do manage do remember the words to the joke, my presentation is always off and the jokes just doesn’t sound as funny as when I had heard it, that can be not only embarrassing, but intimidating at the same time. So I have learned to just sit back and give the joke the attention that it deserves and enjoy it, rather than trying to remember the lines and losing focus!

Dentists

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

I’m not a fan of Dentistry and it really sucks because I know that I have a cavity, but I begin to get so uptight when ever I have a scheduled appointment with my dentist. He is a great guy, been going to him forever and a day, his prices are as reasonable as the next guy, and is easy on the eyes, but . . .

I have dental insurance so the cost isn’t a major issue, although co-pays can add up by the end of the year for all the medical issues that I have been facing lately. But I just don’t like someone in my mouth and even thinking about needles and drills going on just creeps me out so very badly.

I know I need to call, the holidays are now upon us and a lot of people are going out of town, it would really suck to start having a toothache during all of the festivities that are in the makings for this years celebration on the anniversary of the birth date of ourĀ Lord Jesus.

Maybe I need to tell me Mother about the issue, I know that she will nag me until I get off of it and call and the darn thing taken care of and done with it all. She is good at such things, gotta love her.
