Are we ever going to see an end to this heat? I have heard of global warming, but this is ridiculous. My office can’t even stay cool enough during the day, what with the old air conditioner that is in place.
I stay indoors (and I love the outdoors so), with my curtains pulled and very few lights on. I feel that it keeps it cooler inside that way.
It reminds me of an episode of The Twilight Zone. Every once in awhile, they have a marathon over a holiday weekend and I always watch, I love that show. The episode that comes to mind involves a young woman who is at her neighbor’s apartment and the sun is unbearably hot and they have no air conditioning (this was in the 1950′s you know, before AC was invented). The heat is unbearable to the point that it melts the paint on a painting that the young woman (an artist) has sitting on an easel in the room.
At the end of the episode, the young woman wakes up from a fitful sleep, one where she was dreaming that it was very hot (because she had a very high fever). In reality, it was very cold and the earth was headed into another ice age. Very interesting when you ponder it. I wonder……
