I have a friend, her name is Pooh-bear. She is my beautiful, wonderful cocker spaniel.
She has been with me since 1997, when she was only 9 months old. She has been a steady companion, loving me unconditionally and been by my side always. We even traveled all over the country and into Canada for 3 years together!! All she ever asked for was a walk once in a while and to be fed. Not much to ask, I don’t think. Well, she is getting old now and her time with me is almost over. Her big brown eyes are fading and getting cloudy. She does not eat much and sleeps most of the time.
I am dreading the day that I lose her. She is like my child, and I will miss her greatly. There will be a very large hole left in my heart when she is gone. I don’t think I can ever replace her with another dog. A pet is true unconditional love.
What a sweet post! I love dogs and I used to have a cocker spaniel, too.I got him as a puppy at 6 weeks old and enjoyed his love and companionship for over 7 years. It was very hard to let him but he became totally blind and got cancer, so out of compassion and with tons of sadness we had to help him pass away. I miss him so much but have many wonderful memories of a wonderful dog.

Sorry to hear about the hard time for your friend. It is so hard to say goodbye, but remember, we are helping them end their suffering. I also have so many wonderful memories of my Poohbear.
